Athletes, celebrities, influencers have joined more than 30 million people across the world to share this AI-generated image on Instagram.
“It’s possibly circumventing some of the automated moderation on the platform, because it’s an AI-generated image and there isn’t anything in there that is massively dangerous or controversial,” Matt Navarra, a social media consultant and industry analyst, told NBC News.
Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram, has been accused of removing videos filmed by Palestinian journalists covering the Israeli carnage in Gaza. An Instagram spokesperson admitted the firm deleted some content because of its violent and graphic nature.
In the past few months, the “All Eyes on Rafah” slogan has been used by multiple organisations as Save the Children, Oxfam, Americans for Justice in Palestine Action, Jewish Voice for Peace and the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, to protest against Israel’s invasion of Gaza’s Rafah city.
